Life was boring and days were going too dull.. Thought of having some break.. tantadan!! :) came the idea of Nandi hills. Wow.. how thrilling it will be !! early morning..bathing in sunlight.. So we decided to enjoy our Saturday sunrise on top of the hill. Plan was made and girls booked the cab too.
Oh ya I forgot to tell about Nandi Hills. Its an ancient hill fortress of southern India, in the Chikkaballapur district of Karnataka state. It is located just 10 km from Chickballapur town and approximately 60 km from the city of Bangalore. You can go either by cab or by bus also. You will get bus from Majestic to chikkaballapur and from there there are lot many buses to Nandi Hills. But if you want to enjoy the beauty of the early morning and rising sun you have to book a cab from bangalore.
the below picture is a view of nandi hills in winter season.Best time to visit Nandi hills is winter so that you can see the sun rising above the clouds.. Since we went in summer we missed this view :(
let me start the story.. We were 8members. Since we all stay in Electronic city It was quiet easy for us to pick all. Only the glitch was from boy's side. As we scheduled our trip early morning 3'o clock they all slept off.. by the time everyone was inside the vehicle it was 3 45 AM. And our journey started.
from Electronic city he took the way to MG road then to airport road. And to our luck it was a full moon night and the view of the moon was very beautiful. We were enjoying the night, full moon, cold breeze everything.. We were feeling like we have got oasis in desert. This was really awesome:)
After a long journey of two hours by 5 45 we reached Nandi Hills. We were all so excited to go up and see the rising sun. But unfortunately the gate to Nandi Hills will open by 6 AM. Hmmm.. what to do.. we were waiting down only.. Already there was a big queue of vehicles infront of us. Everybody got down the vehicles had our morning cup of tea from the shop near by, had our biscuits and were waiting for the gate to be open. From one side of the sky we were able to see the red yellow and orange mixed texture. We started to worry that we will miss sunrise :(
Then the vehicles started to move . Our driver was a driving very nicely in that curvy roads. we were very excited. We reached the gate and purchased entry ticket there. As we reached top we ran to the point where already the reddish orange rays of sun were visible. we all were filling those beautiful moments into our eyes and some people were capturing that divine moment in their cameras.
The sunrise was very beautiful which cannot be described by words. The cool breeze flowing around was so calm that you will feel you are in seventh heaven. It was like taking all worries apart from you and filling yourself with some divine joy and peace.here is a view of sun rise.
After the sunrise we started to explore the place.First we went a temple on top of the hill. It was very beautiful and was made up of stones. Inside there was a small lake where we took our pics ;). and then we started to come down. There were beautiful tree houses and so many monkeys too.
Later we visited Tippu's drop, a place on top of Nandi Hills from where the culprits were pushed down as a note of their during the reign of Tippu Sulthan. Nearby only there was a board directing to the source of Arkavathi River. But since it is summer, source was dried. Then we startted coming down, exploring all gardens and filled our hearts with so many nice views of surroundings.
At the entrance, there is one beatiful lake "Amrutha Sarovara" which means Lake of immortality. And garden of beautiful flowers. When you come down you can see the summer guest house of Tippu sultan.Even though all rooms are locked you can visit it from outside.
Hmm.. Finally we reached down by 9'o clock and everyone of us were so hungry. So we tried to call our driver who had parked vehicle on top. And then we realized that there is no network on top. OMG !! You know again we went up (almost 1km, but since we found a short-cut we reached soon;-)) and searched for our vehicle and got into that. Finally we started our way towards Bengaluru watching all the curvy road and vineyards by the side of road cherishing all the beautiful memories we are carrying with us.
Nice story :) even we will plan one day:)
